Welcome to my first ever blog post on my new website! I’m so glad you’re here.
Living in Brooklyn and working in New York City, I try to take photos whenever I can. Even if I don’t have my camera on hand, my phone is always a good backup. Since my commute can sometimes take close to two hours, I’ve started taking photos along the way: whether I’m stuck in traffic or walking around trying to find a new place to eat and relax during my lunch break.
Even though I’ve lived here my whole life, I still always find something new or interesting to look at. That’s one of the reasons I love New York so much. Here are some recent photos I’ve taken during my commute back and forth.
Taking the BM1 from Brooklyn to Manhattan can sometimes be a hassle. I took this photo through the thankfully clean bus window while sitting in the front. Also, just in case I ever need photographic evidence for my manager about why I was late. Somehow, I still made it on time.
Caught perfect timing as a water helicopter lifted off from the East River while I was on the FDR Drive.
The different styles of buildings caught my eye here. I loved the mix of shapes, heights, and textures.
Took this while walking near Bryant Park on 42nd Street. I loved how the phone filter brought out the warmer tones and gave the whole scene more of a fall feeling.
Even though I’m not Times Square’s biggest fan, I always have memories tied to this area, and working here has definitely given me a stronger backbone. It has its caveats, but there’s still something beautiful about it. So many people dream about coming to New York, living here, or working here. Would you?
